what does it do?
The directory is a searchable map which helps customers find product. Users are able to filter their searches by:  
  • oyster farms vs. retailers
  • those offering sales direct to the public
  • those offering shipping of oysters to the public
  • those offering home delivery
  • those offering a tourism experience
What are the key advantages?
With hospitality & tourism expected to recover slowly following the Covid-19 pandemic, the industry needs to find ways to increase retail sales and promote at home consumption. The directory supports oyster sales in NSW, helping connect consumers with product. Many farmers are happy to shorten the supply chain by offering farm gate sales to locals & tourists. This directory helps provide this connection.

No. 11 - Preparing Catching Slats - Innovative Set-Ups
what is it?
Two different innovative set-ups used by farmers in the preparation of catching slats
what does it do?
The first set-up uses multiple circulate saws arrnaged in a frame to cut new slats from stormwater pipe as it is pushed through a feeder tube. The second set-up uses two drills fitted with brushes - one concave, one convex surface - which is used to clean slats used in previous years.

what does the bulk live storage tank do?
Holding 800 dozen, the tank chills oysters to 12oC. In this set-up oysters are breathing but not feeding.​
key advantAges
The tank is a self-contained unit, and oysters are guarenteed to maintain condition for 6 weeks. This means that provided you harvest prior to rain, you can sell when the estuary is closed. ​

what does the Oyster cradle do?
Provides a cradle on the outside of your punt, from which farmers can work
key advantAges
Allows farmers to work lower and closer to oyster infrastructure. By leaning on your thighs it also reduces bending of the back. The cradle allows farmers to work any tide and lease, and reduces damage to seagrass by eliminating foot and prop damage.

what does the adjustable platform do?
Platform can be lowered, allowing farmers to stand and work at a height lower than the punt floor. 
key advantAges
At this lower height, it reduces the need to bend your back when working long-lines. It is especially useful for punts that sit high in the water.
