2026 NSW Oyster Industry Awards
Industry awards are traditionally presented at the NSW Oyster Conference every two years to recognise outstanding contributions across the sector. Sponsored by NSW DPIRD, this years program has been expanded to include new award categories, and nominations are being invited from across the industry.
Categories Open For Nomination
There are 6 award categories open for nomination.
- RISING STAR: Someone who has been in the industry for less than 5 years who is already making waves. They bring passion, dedication to learning or new ideas and show exceptional promise in the industry.
- INDUSTRY LEGEND: An individual who has been in the industry for more than 20 years and whose long-standing commitment, leadership, and contributions have shaped and strengthened the oyster industry. They have a wealth of knowledge they share with others and positively influence the industry.
- INDUSTRY CHAMPION: This award honours an individual or organisation that has gone above and beyond to support and advance the oyster industry during tough times through tireless work and advocacy.
- INNOVATION AWARD: A person or organisation that has introduced a new idea, technology, or approach that has significantly improved oyster farming, processing, or marketing. It honours creativity, problem-solving, and a vision for the future of the industry.
- SUSTAINABILITY AWARD: An individual, business, or initiative that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to sustainable practices in oyster farming. From habitat restoration to waste reduction and climate resilience.
- BEST FARM GATE EXPERIENCE: This award celebrates a farm-gate operator who delivers an exceptional visitor experience, whether through tours, tastings, storytelling, or hospitality.
Please note that you can submit multiple entries, and can also self-nominate.
Nominations close on 24th April, with winners selected by a joint panel of previous award recipients from both industry and government. The award presentation will take place during the Conference dinner on Thursday 28th May.
